While I've been away however I've noticed a large amount of accounts are being created, and personally I seem reasonably suspicious that this is the same person making the accounts, or at least some kind of spam bot. I'm not entirely sure how to deal with the problem, but I thought it should be brought to our attention, especially seeing as no editing seems to be taking place. {{User:BRGSMan/sig}} 17:14, 18 November 2011 (GMT) | ||

I have now taken the liberty of making sure all of the teachers' pages have contents boxes (apart from those not on the 'teachers' page and those who have no subtitles). Dangerousx 20:28, 30 September 2010 (BST)
I have now also taken the liberty of making sure all teachers on the 'teacher' page are on the 'teachers' page, and that all teachers on the 'teachers' page are on the 'teacher' page. Dangerousx 09:30, 2 October 2010 (BST)
I have now made over 500 edits! Dangerousx 00:47, 17 October 2010 (BST)
I am now an admin/administrator/moderator. Not to brag, show off, toot my own horn or rub it in your face. OK, maybe just a little! Dangerousx 21:52, 27 October 2010 (BST)

Hi!
Please do not say hi to everybody, it's not really necessary. Alan 20:50, 28 September 2010 (BST)
Do not blank pages
Please ask a moderator before blanking your talk page, it would be much nicer if you replied. Blanking a page will NOT make me go away.
Welcoming people to the wiki
Please type {{Welcome}} on to empty talk pages, do not say Hi. It is much quicker to go round adding Welcome templates to users who have no talk page than to look through all the talk pages.
Basicly, a welcome template is only gonna get added to new users. Don't mess up the system, otherwise people arn't going to be able to see the welcome template. Alan 21:09, 28 September 2010 (BST)

Hi Dangerousx, thanks for appreciating that I protected that page. Also, I'd like to inform you (if you know already or not) that you sign posts with four tildes ~~~~. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 19:20, 29 September 2010 (BST)
Mr Ventress error
Now corrected, just a slight error in code. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 21:33, 29 September 2010 (BST)
Mr Ward
He's left, therefore he's a past teacher. OMGItsMichael 14:37, 03 October 2010 (BST)
I'm assuming he's not, cause he's been replaced! OMGItsMichael 15:08, 03 October 2010 (BST)
It's unsure whether or not he's coming back at the moment, so until it's been confirmed, he should stay in the teachers category. Eve 15:29, 3 October 2010 (BST)
Miss Robinson
She is a member of staff, not a teacher, therefore not in the teachers category. It is Miss Robinson, I have had several letters from her in the last few weeks and I'm definitely sure its Miss. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 18:37, 7 October 2010 (BST)
George Platt
Hmm...could it possibly be that I know who George Platt is in real life? Sellers (WithAnN) 19:12, 7 October 2010 (BST)
Okay, I know who George Platt is, and I know that he is Twistedspoon. I know this because I am older than you, in a higher year than you, and have been on the wiki longer than you. Capiche? Good. Sellers (WithAnN) 19:18, 7 October 2010 (BST)
Administrator
Hi Dangerousx I've read your request to become an admin. As a fellow bureaucrat with Clizard we will discuss whether you can become an admin or not. I thought I should also inform you that Camponhoyle is interested in becoming an admin. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 20:25, 17 October 2010 (BST)

Admin
Congratulations on becoming an Admin, I noticed you're getting used to the tools, the rollback is a quick undo you can do from recent changes. If you get stuck and don't know about something, feel free to ask. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 21:22, 27 October 2010 (BST)
As an admin, you can see which edits are patrolled and which are not. The unpatrolled edits on recent changes are shown with red exclamation marks. An unpatrolled edits is an edit that nobody has set as patrolled. This is very useful on large wiki's where there are lots of edits that need patrolling, so that two different users won't check the same edit and waste each other's time. On the BRGSWiki however there are so few edits that this doesn't become a problem. Hope I answered your question! Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 21:35, 27 October 2010 (BST)
I thought that was what it was, but there are some edits I have thoroughly looked at, but are still classified as unpatrolled. Dangerousx 21:41, 27 October 2010 (BST)
Yeah you have to go a bit out of your way to mark them as patrolled, you have to press 'diff' thats next to the edit and then mark it as patrolled there. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 21:43, 27 October 2010 (BST)
Thanks, I have been enlightened and understand it all now (well, at least this patrol business). Dangerousx 21:49, 27 October 2010 (BST)
Admin Template
Oops! I didn't realise you were making a template as well - I thought you had only uploaded the image! Which template shall we keep?
Vandalism Earlier
Hi seems you got into a bit of vandalism earlier, is everything okay seeing as the vandalism was an attack? Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 17:25, 28 October 2010 (BST)
Yes, I'm fine thanks. Dangerousx 20:53, 28 October 2010 (BST)
Yeah just seemed unusual at how persistant he/she was. They usually don't bother bypassing I.P. blocks, I also noticed that the accounts had a similar name to ex-admin Woozle44. Seems a bit weird. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 21:09, 28 October 2010 (BST)
User:F430
Hi, We had a spammer on here before and I've deleted the page he set up (Special:DeletedContributions/F430) but I don't have the power to ban users - can you sort it out please? Thanks 1885
Links
Hi Dangerousx,
I appreciate that you are trying to put in links when you see a word that will link, but will you try not put links in headings. Also could you try not to put links for the same word multiple times in a paragraph. If someone is reading the paragraph, they will notice the first link. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 17:47, 29 October 2010 (BST)
To All Moderators
This is just a general note to all of the moderators - could you please make sure you check your spelling and grammar when editing? It does look unprofessional when the admins can't spell correctly. Most new browsers should have spellcheckers built in.
Thanks,

Recent issues at school
(this is addressed to all moderators)
I have been informed of another side of events, and there are suggestions that some moderators have been abusing their power and making unacceptable edits. I will dig further, and if I find that this is the case, I will be permanently blocking accounts of any offenders. However, I am also prepared to offer an amnesty - if you are willing to own up to any breach of the rules, now is the time to do so. We have to take matters like this seriously, as it undermines the authority of the administrators, and puts us in an extremely difficult position.
On the other hand, if you are innocent, and the allegations are not substantiated, we can continue as before.
Chris
Edit Summaries
Hey DangerousX. Recently, there has been a few times when you have deleted text from pages and I have not been able to understand why. This may just have been ignorance on my part, but perhaps this could be fixed by using Edit Summaries (Indicated above Save Page) to tell other editors what you have done and why. It isn't so important for stuff like grammar, but when you are removing text it can help us see what was wrong, and how to improve in the future. Message me with any thoughts. Thanks, Sellers (WithAnN) 20:06, 3 November 2010 (GMT)
I already knew, thanks. Dangerousx 20:40, 3 November 2010 (GMT)
As an update re: the problems in school, an example has been given as the page of Rebecca Finley. I've deleted it, but I'm sure you can see why it was an issue - the comments are potentially offensive. It does breach the guidelines as set out on the Vandalism page - i.e. that comments cannot be potentially offensive. Please make sure you're aware of this in future. User:Chris
hi
User:Sharples Arnold
Hi!
I've just deleted a spam page (The Biggest Fashion Magazines In The World) which was the only contribution of User:Sharples Arnold. I can't block the user so can you please?
Saved you a job :) Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 22:01, 30 December 2010 (GMT)
Thank you kindly. May one be pardonned for one has been prohibited from maintaining one's remedial collections of hypertext in the light of annual occasions known as Christmas festivities that were originally meant to support the anecdote of Jesus' birth. Yours sincerely,

Football
Now I don't want to get into an argument whether football is spelt with a capital letter or not, but the website you have used to 'prove me wrong' uses the word 'should' and therefore is not a definite rule, so I am going to revert the edit, and please don't be change my edit back. Any other help? Let me know! Thanks BRGSMan talk - contribs 16:53, 27 July 2011 (BST)
I think the 'should' is meant to mean that in order for it to be proper English, it should start with a capital letter. Either that or it means: it should begin with a capital letter, but most people incorrectly write it without said upper case character. I think I understand what you are thinking: that it does not begin with a capital letter, but in that person's opinion, the English language "should" be modified so that it does have a capital letter. Either could be correct, but personally I believe it should begin with a capital letter (even if the syntax of English does not say so, it would stand out like a sore thumb from other pronouns) as it is a proper noun, the name of something, just like 'Monopoly' is capitalised and is the name of a game (sports are a module/subcategory within games), 'Adam' is capitalised and is the name of a person and 'Friday' is capitalised as it is the name of a day of the week.
