Legends

Why did you add yourself as a legend? The policy for Legend-status is to discuss it first in somewhere like the Community Portal, and then if a large proportion agree you or whoever else can be put forward for legend status. It devalues it if everyone decides to become a "Legend" don't you think? The recent batch of "legends" that have been added have been removed, and will be reinstated as and when the majority agree they should be considered a Legend.

Can I just ask why you put your email in the contact page? We already have an account for contacting the moderators, and any news is passed on, so there's no need.

i didn't know that the news was passed on, since we haven't had any news passed on, ever.

How about this, linked to from this. Please make sure you check SysopEdits regularly! Chris mod 22:31, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Can we assume this is a template for a 'good' userpage? (Also people, remember to sign your posts with Four Tildes (~~~~) Tar7arus 17:05, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, feel free to copy any page you want and change the content. Another good page is Heskey's. Jonny talkmod 21:15, 6 December 2006
  • Just a quick question - you said you were on the wiki "at lunchtime editing things".. which day was this on? Recent Changes doesn't show any alterations so I just need to check the block is working. Thanks Chris mod - talk 08:35, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

  • It was quite a while ago, there was still a block, but i just logged on and it was fine...

Protection

Ok, fair enough, you want to keep your page clean, but honestly I don't think it should be protected. If we're going to protect this page, then why not protect all of them to stop people adding names*? And if you're protecting it because you're a moderator, than that's even worse. Why don't you just put this page in your watchlist and check to see if everyone up there is your friend? (Anyway, you can't tell people to add themselves and then complain when people do).

* If you want some background on this - this page has been protected so that, and I quote, i dont want people adding their names to my friends list, especially if i dont like them, and i dont see why anyone else should really want to change mine. Jonny (talk) 20:43, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
