Eleanor is a feminist. That is all that needs to be said.

Well, actually Eleanor is another one of those strange people who thought it would be a good idea to go to BRGS,and obviously did not learn from her mistakes by deciding to also go to Sixth Form. Some people never learn ......

She first became involved in the group when she decided to ignore her form and began camping out in the basement locker room with Dani etc. and when she had many lessons with these people. Fond memories include Latin (all of it) and being sick when someone put mustard in her mouth that she really wasn't expecting.

Another member of the Locker Room Crew (until they took it away), Eleanor is now one of the scary obnoxious people who haunts the back table of the lower common room, preaching death and destruction to Year 12. She, like Kirsty is a silly person taking way too many subjects, but unlike Kirsty she hasn't had the sense to drop any

However, she does have great friends to keep her on the not so straight-and narrow, such as Dani, Becky, Chris, Sam and Jono. Her hobbies include imposing strict controls on lunatic boyfriend Tom who has since left for a life of computer games geekdom, and when he isn't around, she teaches Kirsty to do the same with Sam. So far unsuccessfully

Eleanor's widely publicised feminist views have led to many an argument with chauvinist Becky although Becky did briefly convert to feminism then quit because it hurt her elbows. But obviously Eleanor is right because she always is. Tom has learnt this by now, and after over two years has come to terms with life as a feminist.

Having been officially declared the moral high ground by Dani, Eleanor is usually the person who is gravitated towards for advice when the menfolk behave badly. In general this is good advice, although killing them usually comes into it somewhere. She does tend to be regarded as the mother figure of the group, having adopted several of her friends on occasion, largely due to the fact that whenever they all go out she is the only one not too inebriated to remember who she is, who everyone else is, and where she lives. Quite an achievement. As things stand, Eleanor does offer relationship counselling and is beginning to think she ought to charge, as no-one will give her a job (she blames her unemployability on the fact that the stereotype of geniuses having no common sense exists. Either that or the employers are sexist).

Considering her views, Eleanor is often viewed, with Jono, as one of the saner inhabitants of the back table, usually being the only reason that Becky and Dani attend any English Lit. lessons whatsoever. Towards the end of the year, when most lessons didn't happen anyway, or were taken up by blatantly ignoring the teacher and doing leaver's books instead, she did give up on persuading these miscreants to do any work but she does take some credit for having tutored Becky in English - they did ten whole minutes of work and spent the rest of the time bitching!

In year 13 she spent many hours with Jess attempting to put the yearbook together, and which did, despite everyone's expectations, get published! Admittedly Mr Morriss did most of it after they left, but oh well.

The proud owner of six and a half A grades at A-level (the half is clearly important) Eleanor has since left BRGS to read English at Homerton College, Cambridge, a decision that she is rapidly regarding as an unwise one. Although she is all alone down there she gets to see her friends lots in the holidays which always pleases her.
