Email Addresses Required to EditIf you notice that editing is disabled even if you have an account then you may need to enter your email address in "my preferences" (top right). This is to reduce the amount of spam we get. You can set your email address to be visible only to you, but it may also be seen by server administrators for maintenance purposes. The confirmation was supposed to be enabled previously but it seems the MediaWiki configuration settings in this area are a little slippery. Had I actually tested this properly, I would have known sooner. Since this is a major change then I thought I'd post it here.
