Compulsory
The deal is that the Upper Sixth get to miss morning registration, in exchange for turning up to a weekly assembly. This is a pretty good deal, as you can be lazy for an extra half-an-hour most days. A number of students however, have found themselves with a free morning on tuesday, and are therefore pretty annoyed at having to come in for four hours to listen to Mr Elkington and co.
The Fixed Agenda
- Mr Elkington usually opens the assembly with a comment or two about UCAS and EMA.
- John Holland is introduced to announce when the next council meeting is
- Mr Archer tells everyone about tree planting and careers advice
Missing Assemblies
Those who miss several assemblies are sent a kind reminder of their requirement to attend assemblies in order to fulfil their sixth form contract. Those who miss an additional assembly will be given a pink form.
