- Mr Newby is a physics teacher that arrived at the school in September 2009.
- He laughs at the way that world war 1 started, he especially finds funny how one person jumped into a river and it was only 2 inches deep.
- His name is a slang term that refers to someone who is inexperienced or sometimes friendless, lonely, unwelcome, unknown or bullied. This is ironic as he is none of the above.
- He likes to play 'Pokémon'. He first ever played 'Pokémon' in 1998 using the Nintendo Game Boy Colour.
- He is an ex-BRGS student who left the 6th form in 2005.
THE NOTE!!!
Mr Newby once intercepted a VERY dodgy note in an 08B Science lesson, as it was being passed between Lauren Johnson and Patrick Barlow. He peered at the note (which contained the full script for one of David Tennant's Secret Smile scenes) for some time, made a horrified face before regathering his composure and announcing: "What an INTERESTING thing to write!!!". As a result of this he will never be able to look Lauren in the eye again.
