- Mr Newby is a physics teacher that arrived at the school in September 2009.
- He laughs at the way that world war 1 started, he especially finds funny how one person jumped into a river and it was only 2 inches deep.
- His name is a slang term that refers to someone who is inexperienced or sometimes friendless, lonely, unwelcome, unknown or bullied. This is ironic as he is none of the above.
- He likes to play 'Pokémon'. He first ever played 'Pokémon' in 1998 using the Nintendo Game Boy Colour.

The Lewis Robinson Incident
During a recent 09G science lesson, Mr Newby did a (very good) impersonation of Lewis Robinson's voice during the Year 7 Paris trip. Lewis has not as yet recovered from the incident.
