Mr Reed

Mr. Reed graced the school for a period in 2004 that, while brief, will be fondly recalled by students for years to come. He made his mark with his distinctive red jumpers, which he wore every day, and, above all, his fine storytelling.

Amongst Mr. Reed's finest tales are the story of his fishing trip in France, which climaxed with him demanding his fishing reel back from a young Frenchman, and the story of an uncouth old man at a supermarket. Though seemingly unlikely ever to return to BRGS, Mr. Reed will always be revered by those lucky enough to have been in his cover lessons.

The Fishing Reel Story

Reed: (in squeaky, Mr. Bean/Alan Partridge-like tone) "I hate the French"

Student: "Why Sir?"

Reed: "Well, once I went fishing in France, terrible thing it was. I befriended a young French boy, by the name of Dick. Hello, Dick, I said. Hello, he replied."

Students sit in disbelief of both the pitch of his voice and the seemingly irrelevant nature of the story

Reed: "I sat down to begin fishing, but by 11.30 was ready for a snack, so I took out some sandwiches. I gave one to the boy. But then he ran off! I noticed some time later, that he had my fishing reel. I yelled after him to (*SCREAMS* alerting even those who have lost interest completely to his story) BRING ME BACK MY FISHING REEL!"

Students continue to stare in complete silence, while Mr. Reed looks around for some sign of laughter

Reed: "He never brought it back."

Applause ripples across the class.
