Mat Rounders

Mat Rounders is smiliar to rounders, but it can only be played inside. Four mats are set up around the Sports Hall and these act as bases. You can have as many people as you want on a base, but it's best to not have everyone run at once, as if the fielding team catch the ball, then everyone who ran is out. You are also out if the bowler has hold of the ball when you are inbetween bases. What generally ends up happening is someone will whack the ball, and most of the team will run, only for the ball to bounce off the ceiling and be caught by the bowler, resulting in most of the team getting out. This means to two or three unfortunate people who are left in will have to continue the game on their own, getting no break between running and batting.

Mat Rounders is one of the preferred games in PE, and is often used as a substitute for real rounders in the summer when the weather forgets that it's supposed to be sunny, and storms prevent us from going outside.
