Universities and Colleges Admissions Service
Statements
The Personal Statement is there for you to write freely and express yourself. It is a very important part of the application process. You can include your feelings about what you want to study and tell them about why you want to study that subject. Don't express too much as there is a 4000 character limit in it.
Tariff
UCAS use a scoring system that allows universities to set the grades they want for you to apply:
- A Level point system
- A = 120
- B = 100
- C = 80
- D = 60
- E = 40
- AS Level point system
- A = 60
- B = 50
- C = 40
- D = 30
- E = 20
For each seperate subject the universities set different point requirements. They will also give you minimum grades that they want you to achieve in the different types of subjects eg. 2 Bs in Sciences
The Website
When you create a UCAS for university applications you can check your progress on the website to see if you have been declined or if you have an interview, so check it regularly.
