Duke Of Edinburgh Award Scheme

This is run at BRGS by a 'diminuitive Scotsman' (source: Mr Kenagh) known as Mr Gray. He organises all D of E expeditions to places across Britain and, more recently, to Europe. Very often the level of organisation that goes into these expeditions means that he has to forgo any actual teaching.

Difficulty

Despite the physical difficulty of the expeditions, it seems to be the more prolonged commitments which prove hardest to complete. This leads to a large dropout rate between Bronze and Silver. However, this doesn't happen between Silver and Gold, since there are on average 1.5 Silver participants, and they don't want to let their other half down.
