He was usually either very happy or very cross. Mostly the former. Dr Vickers was a stand-in for Miss Hartley and was considered by many to be Boris Johnson or Peter Pettigrew due to his almost identical appearance to them both. He was usually either very happy or very cross. Mostly the former.
