Modern Foreign Languages, or MFL for short, is the name for the department of languages that you will study in until year 12 if you get there. The current head is [[Mr Wyton]] who against all other schools in the area made [[German]] the year 7 language. This has led to a massive drop in [[French]] GSCE students as they have 1 less year to perfect those tricky accents. Even so, every year there seems to be an equal number of people taking [[Spanish]], German and French, with slightly more taking German. This is because of many reasons, the most likely of which are:

German is the most common language in Europe.

Children in lower school take German from Year 7, unlike French or Spanish.

Every form does German, whilst only two do Spanish and three do French.

Along with the [[Art]] department it boasts some of the most fearsome teachers with matching reputations. It is considered one of the hardest subjects in the school.
