It may be that Bacup is going through its misunderstood-teenager years, after a significant rebirth, and with the Rossendale Council moving some of its offices into the centuries old town. The Council has not been one of Valley's single redeeming features since it was damned in an 2004 Audit Commission report as the worst local authority in the country, but hopefully it, and Bacup can help each other through this difficult time. It is currently undergoing vast investment, and just like a teenager has some very nice points, even if acne does cause some worry and make it look less pretty outwardly than it feels on the inside.

  • Some believe Bacup to be the scum-central of Rossendale "which deserves to be napalmed (except napalm is a little bit extreme and nasty)".
  • Interestingly, reports have returned that it is a hostile environment where one may be attacked for looking different to others, but how these comments returned from the "missing people" is yet to be shown conclusively.
