Statement

This was originally posted a couple of years ago but is still relevant today. Please think very carefully before editing. Ignorance is not an excuse!

Note to all users

I feel I have to make something clear, as over the past few weeks the moderators of this website have had to edit more and more things that are blatantly unsuitable.

This website was created by a small group of people a couple of years ago, with the intention of preserving our memories of BRGS, the friends we made there, the teachers we got to know, the field trips we went on and so forth. We decided to open it up to all pupils and alumni so that everyone could share in this resource.

However, recently there has been a culture of using this site to vent your opinions - both to insult people and to express your side of an argument. One question... what is wrong with talking face to face? If you have an issue, resolve it by talking to them in person, or ignore it and get on with your life. We are fed up of having to watch this site so intently to avoid people being insulted, and to clear up childish vandalism.

You may not be aware that the moderators are currently at university, doing exceedingly important work and exams. We check this site when we get chance to, in our own free time, which is in very short supply.

So we would like to point out this for the final time. This site is for facts, memories, events, quotes, anything pleasant and polite. IT IS NOT FOR INSULTS, OPINIONS OR PERSONAL VENDETTAS. If the standard does not improve, the site will be locked from all edits, and one of the only records of your schooldays will be gone. So please, to the minority that do so - stop your vandalism and insults. There is no place for it here.
