The Duke of Edinborough Award is an award scheme designed to reward pupils for volountering in the community keeping fit and learing skills and generally looks good on a Personal Statement or CV.

Levels

The Award is divided into three levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level becomes harder and requires more time as a volounteer and eventually includes a residential.

Bronze

Requirements

Volounteering - 12 Hours and upwards over 3 months.

Physical - 12 Hours and upwards over 3 months.

Skills - 12 Hours and upwards over 3 months.

Please note one section can be for six months and 24 hours in total and one can be backtracked by a month

Expedition - An two day trip were you are completley isolated.

Silver

Requirements

Volounteering - 24 Hours and upwards over 6 months.

Physical - 24 Hours and upwards over 6 months.

Skills - 24 Hours and upwards over 6 months.

Please note one section can be for three months and 12 hours in total and one can be backtracked by a month

Expedition - An trip were you are completley isolated.

Gold

Requirements

Volounteering - 24 Hours and upwards over 6 months.

Physical - 24 Hours and upwards over 6 months.

Skills - 24 Hours and upwards over 6 months.

Please note one section must be for 12 months and 48 hours in total and one can be backtracked by a month

Expedition - An two day trip were you are completley isolated.

Residential - An outward bounds trip were you look after yourself.
