For the short time he was at BRGS he made a lasting impression on those he knew. He liked to be known as ''Certaxe'' (unknown reasons) for the first year or so - this later became Tom. Unfortunately he left halfway through the second year of the sixth form. However he still came in to visit us, and even left us his school bag, still full of his work. To commemerate his leaving his bag was taken up onto the moors above Todmorden and burnt.

He created a game known as [[Certaxe Pool]], a variation on pool that was impossibly complicated, so much infact that only 5 complete games were ever played (one of the reasons being loss of balls during play). Along with [[Gareth Ashworth]], Tom was one of the 'playtesters' for [[pin-pool]], a hybrid form of pool in pin-ball.
