 As I see it, this was a poor attempt for peace, the two state solution is a massive step forward, but the other demands are a massive step backward. Wanting Palestinian’s to except Israel as a state will never happen, it’s like giving beef to a vegetarian, a pig to a Muslim and meat that isn’t Kosher to a Jew, it just won’t happen. Also he said nothing about stopping settlements, so if there is a state of Palestine, the Israeli’s may boot them off and we’ll be back at square one. Then there are the points of a demilitarized zone and no control over there airspace, this is stupid. I’ve talked about Israel’s armed forces so why aren’t Palestine allowed to have them, Israel may say it’s for “national security” but Palestine may say “there national security is in jeopardy as they have nothing and Israel have all that might”. Peace is a word that has been used to often, when there isn’t, but in this area, there never will be any in the near future. People have tried and failed to find peace and this effort is another example of this. If there is going to be peace there is only two ways of achieving it, giving Israel back to the Palestine’s or buy getting rid of the Palestinians, both of these will never happen, so if there is to be peace, it won’t be in your life.
