An amazing, if slightly insane musical, recently performed at BRGS. Stars a giant, man eating plant.

 An amazing, if slightly insane musical, performed at [[BRGS]]. A story of greed, and how it affects people, with a heap of comedy thrown in as well. If you missed the school performance, the official productions of the play are great, and the film is always worth a watch as well, despite the different endings.
 == The Plot ==
-Seymour Krelborn is an orphan, taken in and raised by a plant shop owner, Mr. Mushnik. He has worked at the shop all his life for no pay, in return for a roof over his head and food to eat. The only problem is, business is slow, and Mushnik might not be able to afford the cost of living for both him and Seymour. In other parts of town, fellow worker Audrey is in a relationship with psychopathic dentist named Orin Scrivello, and Seymour thinks she deserves better than him. Cue the strange plant Seymour picked up from the market during a solar eclipse. Naming it Audrey 2, Seymour thinks he will be able to display it in the shop so they will get more customers. Unfortnately, the plant doesn't seem to want to grow. One night, in a fit of desperation, Seymour accidentally cuts himself on the plant, which laps his blood up like an animal. Seymour is confused and goes to sleep, but the plant grows through the night, and when Seymour wakes up, he believes he is a genius. Putting the plant on display, and making sure it has been fed with blood every so often, the shop gains tons of publicity, and most importantly, money. After a quick display of the daily life of a dentist (in song of course), we learn that Seymour is struggling to keep up with the plant's needs. It's appetite for blood is increasing every day. One night when the plant collapses, the plant begins to talk, and demand food. It tells Seymour that if it is fed, Seymour will be rich beyond his wildest dreams. Seymour reluctantly agrees to kill someone to feed the plant, and decides there is no one better to be killed than Audrey's abusive boyfriend. He gets an appointment at the dentists, and takes a gun with him, however there seemed to be no need, as the dentist himself suffocates on laughing gas. He takes the body home and chops it up to feed the plant, but doesn't realise Mushnik is watching. Seymour and Audrey get together, promising they will move to a house in the countryside. Mushnik confronts Seymour about Scrivello's death, threatening to turn him in to the police, unless he gives him all the money he has earned from the plant. Out of desperation, knowing that he would lose everything if he lost the plant, Seymour tells Mushnik the money is inside the plant, and he is eaten alive. Seymour inherits the shop, and he gets offers for his own gardening shows, brands etc. He takes up the offers, even though he knows the plant will kill again, as he believes he needs to keep his fame for Audrey to love him. Audrey tells Seymour she would love him even without the plant, and as the plant shouts for blood, Seymour decides it is the time for the plant to die. Going into a mad rampage, Seymour scares Audrey away. She comes back later to discover he is gone. The plant begs her for food, and so she goes to water it, and as it wraps it's vines around her Seymour comes in and sees what is going on. He manages to free her, but she is wounded. She tells Seymour to feed her to the plant, so that as long as the plant is with Seymour they will always be together. The next day, a man comes in who offers to pay Seymour millions for the chance to take leaf cuttings of Audrey 2 and sell them across America so that every household can have one. The plant reveals its true plan, to take over the world. It also reveals that it is actually a life form from outer space. Seymour tries to end it once and for all, shooting, cutting and even poisoning the plant. However, because of Seymour's greed, the plant is already too strong. Seymour attempts to destroy it from the inside, but is eaten. The plant seller comes back in and can't find Seymour, so starts to take the cuttings. The ending scene shows that following the event of the play, the plants were given to every household and soon, members of the families were being tricked into given blood with power and fame. Soon the plants had taken over the world, and a giant Audrey 2 is shown, with the heads of Seymour, Audrey, Mushnik and Scrivello singing the message of the play: No matter how much they offer you, for the sake of the world, don't feed the plants. Nice ending, huh?

After this goes on for a while the plant gets to big to live of little bits of blood so Seymour goes to the dentist where the dentist (Audrey's Boyfriend) gets a laughing gas mask on and kills himself accidentally by oxygen starvation. Seymour takes the body home and chops it up for Audrey 2 ( the plant) and feeds him to it. His boss then comes in witnesses the whole scene and comes in. He then gets eaten. eventually the plant turns on Seymour and gets Audrey. Seymour electrocutes the plant and he and Audrey get married and live happily ever after.
