Laura began her time at BRGS in 1999, moving from Worsthorne Primary School in Burnley. She was in 7G, with Mr King as her form prefect, but moved to B at the end of year 10.

In 2003, Laura founded the now annual teacher's Stars in Their Eyes, along with [[Amy Good]], [[Daniel Hunt]] and [[Tanya Ashworth]]. A grand total of £580 was raised, and the pupils voted Mr Gray and Mr Fitton the winners for their fantastic rendition of Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe". In second place were Mr Edwards and Mrs Heywood (John Travolta and Olivia Newton John) and Mr Ventress came third as Elvis.

Laura was part of the Young Enterprise company FROG. She had roles as both marketing and finance directors. It was her mum who originally suggested the recipe books which made the company so successful.

Laura and Amy also organised two cake stalls and two three legged walks from BRGS to Burnley bus station to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society - at the time of leaving BRGS their running total was over £1000.

In upper sixth Laura played piano for Junior Choir, somewhat uselessly, but she had fun anyway.

Laura is now at Newcastle University, studying architecture, which isn't really too hard but takes up a lot of time and money, and also involves trips to seriously dodgy areas.
